DESCRIPTION: The Republic F-84-F has been derived from its predecessor, version "G", due to the use of a swipt wing, with an angle of 40°, in substitution of the original straight wing.The Thunderstreak started to be used by the Aeronautica Militare Italiana since March 1956.
The 194 exemplaries received were assigned to Groups 154, 155, 156 of the 6a Aerobrigata at Brescia-Ghedi, to Groups 101, 102 and 103 of the 5a Aerobrigata at Rimini-Miramare and to the 20° and 21° Group of the 51a Aerobrigata at Treviso-Istrana.
Afterwards, they were used also by 155° Gruppo of the 50°Stormo at Piacenza-S.Damiano and by the 156° Gruppo of the 36° Stormo of Gioia del Colle (Bari).
Stable and fast, the F-84-F was able to carry out missions of battle support and of interdiction, equipped also with nuclear weapons.
In spite of its not excellent dynamical response, the Thunderstreak equipped also several acrobatic teams, like the "Diavoli Rossi (Red Devils)" and the " Getti Tonanti (Thunder Jets)".

The textures I realized represent the following historical employment of the airplane we are dealing with: the first is an aircraft belonging to the Aeronautica Militare Italiana, 6°Aerobrigata, based in Brescia-Ghedi in 1960, the second represents an aircraft belonging, in 1958, to the Italian Acrobatic Team, "Diavoli Rossi".
