FS2004 FSX Yak-11 racer STEADFAST

Steadfast is a Yak 11 converted to an unlimited racer.It has been flight tested up to 455 MPH and
qualified at 382 MPH during Reno 2007.
It was modified with a Pratt & Whitney R-2000 7M2 as used on the DC-4 and on the Caribou. The propeller is a modified Super DC-3 Prop. The wheels and brakes are from a Cessna 421 while the tailwheel is lockable from the control stick. The plane carries 145 US gallons of Avgas. The exhaust is made by Sam Davis of Chino, Ca. bringing the rated horsepower of this powerplant up into the 1400HP range.
A race spinner and Water Spray Bar to the oil coolers were added as well as manually closable oil cooler exits to increase top speed at Reno. The next conversion is an ADI or anti detonation Injection to the carburetor for more horsepower.
At Reno 2007, Team SteadFast qualified at 382.827 MPH. This is the fastest SteadFast has gone on the course to date. it was clocked occasionally at 391 MPH.
