FS 2004 Boeing B-17G Tiger Girl

History: This model was actually one of the last B-17F’s made before the G’s came out. Although it’s an F, it is almost indistinguishable from an early G since it has the chin turret. Tiger Girl only flew 12 missions for the 388th – 1st was on Oct 2, 1943 and the last was on Nov. 26, 1943 when they reached the target at Bremen, Germany and bombs were released; one bomb from another group flying directly overhead hit Tiger and split the plane in half, only the navigator survived. The crew that regularly flew Tiger Girl did not fly it that day and some of those crew members are still alive today.
