This repaint is a tribute to my dad who started his flying experience

at Embry-Riddle field near Union City, TN and took his first flight on May 4th, 1943. This is an exact replica of one of the planes he flew there, number "30", made possible by many snapshots he had in a photo album.  I've included a copy of the first page from his pilot's logbook showing the entries of each flight as he recorded them. He must of enjoyed his first flight as he noted it was "swell". He was very fond of this biplane and said he had more fun flying it than any other plane he ever flew. I remember him telling me that he would climb to 10,000 ft, kill the engine, catch thermals, and soar like a glider for almost half an hour. Check out the pilot's face, it's my dad - I found a photo of him where he was looking almost straight into the camera, necessary so that the eye's line up.
